The meme is mass production and also a doctrine. It becomes a particular language that young people are very farmiliar with. We use memes as a tool to keep independence and initiation. It can stimulate a kind of cultural identity: users believing that others have the same aesthetic inclination and sense of humor as themselves. It is also the concretization of emotional catharsis: the purpose is not to persuade someone but to show off provocation and irony that disdain to argue, express emtions only.
It is not just a substitute for laziness. Still, more like a method for avoiding reality: to deal with the serious reality with a non-serious attitude, this is a negative and powerless rebellion from the younger generation.
